About Marie
Marie’s love of the landscape started as a child, growing up in rural Pennsylvania, where she was free to explore streams and hunt for fossils until dark. She still feels most at peace when her feet are touching the earth, and when wildlife, mountains, rivers, and trees are plentiful. She is a third-generation artist born in Alexandria, Egypt. She learned very early about seeing beauty in the world and the importance of creating from a solid technical foundation. Once she retired from a 40-year career as a psychologist, she focused on growing her art career.
She attended art schools and workshops led by artists associated with the New York Academy of Art and the Florence School of Art, among others. Her work has been accepted into several local juried shows and has won several awards. She is a member of the Broward Art Guild, the High-Country Plein Air Painters, an Associate Member of Oil Painters of America, a member of the Gold Coast Watercolor Society, and a member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters’ Society.
Marie lives on the inspiring coasts of Florida and Maine, where she continues to explore nature and often paints en plein air.
