Marie is a third-generation artist born in Alexandria, Egypt, immigrating to the states as a child. Her love of art started early, growing up surrounded by classical music and fine oil paintings that her family had brought to America.

Growing up in rural Pennsylvania she was also heavily influenced by the gentle beauty of the landscape. She learned very early to see beauty in the world and the importance of creating from a solid technical foundation. After a 40-year career as a psychologist, and sketching most of her life, she began to paint.

Today, she primarily enjoys painting landscapes, along with portraits, still-life, and abstracts. She uses a variety of mediums in her work. She has been accepted into several local juried shows, and she has won several awards. She is a member of the Broward Art Guild, the High-Country Plein Air Painters, an

Associate Member of Oil Painters of America, member of the Gold Coast Watercolor Society, and member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painter’s Society. Marie lives on the Florida and Maine coastlines where she enjoys exploring nature and often paints en plein air.
